April Lockhart
April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started piano and guitar lessons in seventh grade. This sparked the interest of her. at the age of 12, April came up with her first original song Different. She spent lots of time when she was 14 writing songs and practicing the piano. Soon after she began taking trips to write with her father in NY as well as LA. April began also to incorporate additional topics that were related to of her classmates who struggle with such things as bullying by peers and teens who commit suicide through the songs Take my Hand. Lockhart has her own following and also works as an online lifestyle blogger for the renowned Ilia Clean Beauty brand. She was not born with a left hand, and that is the reason she's the person she is. However, that's not the whole story. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability in her posts on Instagram, however she isn't making it the focal point of it. What message does it convey? We all have multiple aspects of identities and we're beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart talks via video in Nashville. "I do not want it to define my life. I do not want to be only known as a disability expert. My day-today life is not affected by it. I lead a normal daily life, and come up with my own solutions to problems. The same is true for me, and I believe it should be discussed. Lockhart is a true source of motivation for self-acceptance generally she is on a long process to attain the goal. However, she acknowledges going through periods of being uncomfortable with her body and sometimes feeling insecure to wear particular types of clothes showing off her arms. It's her choice to wear what she'd like, and is proud to share photos of herself wearing these clothes. The key to self-love for her is that it's not an end destination. However, that is the case with anyone that is prone to doubts. I think it is important to be surrounded by those who are able to know you.
